Date, Time and Place

The next meeting will take place on Thursday, February 28th 2008 at 6:30pm (PST) at 7401 SW Washo Ct, Suite 200, Tualatin, OR 97062.

A projector and adequate seating is available however, internet might not be available (stay tuned for confirmation). Please RSVP if you plan on attending so we can provide refreshments.

Team meetings are open to anyone interested in current team activities. All team members are encouraged to attend. If you would like to discuss something that is not shown on the agenda, by all means feel free to add it here so it will be covered.

    • Linuxfest Northwest - April 26th - 27th - Bellingham, WA
      • We have table at Linuxfest NW. The current plan is to always have this table manned by a couple people, hand out CD's, etc.
      • Find out about getting CD's pressed by a local company (see Local CD Distribution Point)
      • Carpooling is available. Talk to dshufelt on the IRC channel for more info.

        • Currently location unknown. We are looking at a few Portland area colleges to provide space for us. The previous install party went quite well, but we easily ran out of space.

        • Talk with your local libraries about getting the official Ubuntu book. Libraries usually have a fund for buying books so with enough interest they might just buy it. Whoever can get the most libraries to get the book will receive a free Ubuntu Tshirt.

    • Keeping PNW active and up to date
      • dshufelt and tgm4883 have volunteered to attempt to keep PNW up to date.

        • In a joint effort with the Washington team, we will use the PNW team Launchpad page.

        • Contact local CD pressing businesses. Offer them free advertising (via including a business card or a logo printed on the CD) in exchange for a deal.

        • Software exists to do this already in the repos. Please install either hwdb-client-gnome or hwdb-client-kde and then run hwdb-gui from the command line. A few tests will be performed and you can send in the results at the end.

        • In an effort to consolidate resources, the Oregon Team Google calendar has be closed. All Oregon and Washington events will be available on the PNW Team Google Calendar. Please search Google Calendars for Ubuntu PNW
