Meetings

The Ubuntu QA team has regular weekly meetings Wednesdays at 14:00 UTC in #ubuntu-meeting on irc.freenode.net . See agenda and archive at /Meetings

Getting Involved

Ubuntu QA is mainly a coordination team, so individuals, not other teams, can be members. Additionally, memberships expire annually and can be renewed by members themselves. We heartily encourage people from all areas of QA to join our team.

If you like to join us, then:

  • Please send an introductory email to the ubuntu-qa list introducing yourself, your previous QA work, and your plans for working in the team.

  • Consider joining our Launchpad QA Team.

  • Come to talk to us on the #ubuntu-testing channel on irc.freenode.net

  • Join our team meetings in #ubuntu-meeting channel on Wednesdays, 14:00 UTC. Click here to read the details and agenda for the next meeting, as well as logs of previous meetings.

Current Activities

The main list of QA tasks is our Activities page.

As part of our efforts to improve the quality of Ubuntu, we are going to track all the bugs we find with our testing, to be able to follow them up to closure and also to be able to prioritize our efforts in the future. The bugs found by the QA Team as a whole should be tagged depending on which testing activity led to finding them.

An important part of testing is that which is to be carried out by Automated Testing, please do take a read of that area to understand what automated testing is all about.
