Getting Involved

Ubuntu QA is mainly a coordination team, so individuals, not other teams, can be members. Additionally, memberships expire annually and can be renewed by members themselves. We heartily encourage people from all areas of QA to join our team.

Joining

Interested in joining the team? Great! You need to do a couple things to get plugged in.

Next Steps

  • Read an overview of how the team operates.

  • Familiarize yourself with the glossary of terms used.

  • Pick an area of testing you would like to get involved with! See the different activities we do on the Activities page. The mailing list will also announce opportunities as they come up.

  • If your unsure of where to start, going through a testing walk-through is a good place to familiarize yourself with how to test and use the qatracker. The package tracker contains the products we are currently testing. Pick one to test, and follow the instructional walk-through. If you get stuck, ask for help!

Getting Help

  • If you have trouble understanding where to start, contact us for help:
    • Send an email to the mailing list

    • Come to talk to us on the #ubuntu-quality channel on irc.freenode.net

    • Join our team meetings in #ubuntu-meeting channel on Wednesdays, 14:00 UTC. Click here to read the details and agenda for the next meeting, as well as logs of previous meetings.

Meetings

The Ubuntu QA team has regular weekly meetings Wednesdays at 14:00 UTC in #ubuntu-meeting on irc.freenode.net . See agenda and archive at /Meetings

Additionally, the QA platform team posts there live hangouts each week. Check out the archive here.
