About Me

I've been using Linux since 1998, starting with Red Hat. I quickly moved to Debian which I used for a number of years but recently made the move to Ubuntu. I tend to use Linux as a desktop OS and feel Ubuntu fits that role better then Debian. I administer Solaris-based systems for a pay-check running on expensive Sun hardware Smile :)

Some of my past and current projects include being an active member of my local LUG (Townsville Linux Users Group http://tlug.dnho.net), writing for the KDE Documentation project and helping out various other Linux-related projects. I am also a member of Linux Australia.

Ubuntu

I am an active member of the Ubuntu DocumentationTeam and co-maintainer of the Official FAQ Guide for both Ubuntu and Kubuntu (to be released with Breezy). You can also find some of my work on the Ubuntu Wiki.

You can have a look at the latest build of the i386 Ubuntu FAQ Guide at: http://www.linuxhd.com/ubuntufaq/faqi386/C/index.html Also see: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocteamProjects

My Three-Liner

Hi, my name is Robert Stoffers, I am a member of the Ubuntu Documentation Team, currently co-maintainer of the i386, AMD64 and PowerPC Ubuntu FAQ Guides and I also write howto's for the Ubuntu Wiki. In the last few months I have done a lot of work on the Ubuntu FAQ Guide, rewriting big parts of it again from scratch for Breezy. I also have started work on the Kubuntu FAQ Guide and have written documentation for the KDE documentation team in the past.

I advocate Ubuntu to my local community through installfests with my local LUG and anywhere else can. I also help out users in #ubuntu and in real life from time to time. Other then the above and earning a paycheck, the rest of my time is devoted to my very understanding family.
