Switzerland has, although a small country, no less than 4 official languages with a wealth of dialects and variations. For most Swiss Ubuntu-users, support and information in their own (main) language is provided by the [http://www.ubuntu-fr.org/ French], [http://www.ubuntuusers.de/ German] and [http://ubuntu-it.org/ Italian] speaking communities. (Any takers for a [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romansh_language Romansh] initiative?)
The Swiss team would like, however, to enhance communication between Swiss Ubuntu users/contributors, and arrange local meetings and provide local support. On launchpad, we are the [https://launchpad.net/people/ubuntu-swiss-users Ubuntu Swiss User] group.
Mailing list
A [https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-ch mailing list] has been set up, to coordinate efforts and spread information among us. Note that this is not a list for normal technical support questions - unless it involves, for instance, Swiss keyboards or location

Install Party in Horw (Luzern) 18. Mai 2006
Together with the [http://zentralschweiz.lugs.ch/ local Linux user group] we will arrange a Ubuntu presentation and install party at the HTA outside Luzern. Just two weeks before the official release, we will focus on the new Ubuntu 6.06. Everybody is welcome to attend and bring their own computers if they would like help to install Ubuntu.
