Introduction

Welcome to the new home of the Tanzanian Ubuntu [LoCo] Team.

As my Kiswahili is atrocious the official language is English until further notice.

Joining the team

We are in desperate need of members to get this off the ground, so until the mailing list and IRC channels are up, please contact me directly. You can find contacts details here: [PeterHoeg].

Goals

What we are planning on achieving:

  1. Creating a foundation for extensive use of Ubuntu in the public, private and home sectors

  2. Advocating and promoting the use of Free Software in wiki:Tanzania with a special focus on Ubuntu

  3. Conduct workshops to expose Tanzanians to free software through hands-on sessions
  4. Distribute Ubuntu CDs and DVDs
