Introduction
Welcome to the new home of the Tanzanian Ubuntu [LoCo] Team.
As my Kiswahili is atrocious the official language is English until further notice.
Joining the team
We are in desperate need of members to get this off the ground.
Both the mailing list and IRC channel are up (see below), but you are of course also welcome to contact me, [PeterHoeg], directly.
Goals
What we are planning on achieving:
- Creating a foundation for extensive use of Ubuntu in the public, private and home sectors
Advocating and promoting the use of Free Software in wiki:Tanzania with a special focus on Ubuntu
- Conduct workshops to expose Tanzanians to free software through hands-on sessions
- Distribute Ubuntu CDs and DVDs
- Coordinate and arrange translation of Ubuntu into Kiswahili
