Notes I would recommend this laptop to run on Linux. All works fine including multimedia keys on the top of keyboard, web-cam and wifi. To have full 3D on this Nvidia graphic card I have used proprietary drivers from Ubuntu "additional drivers" database. Suspend is also quite reliable (extended test with lot of application can cause laptop not to wake up) but in my case hibernation didn't work (kernel 2.6.35-25-generic #44-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 21 17:40:48 UTC 2011 i686). Laptop is going to hibernate without errors, and even display message that it will resume from hibernation on start-up. However none of the applications are resumed.

Please bear in mind that those models are suffering from graphic card overheating. The GPU mounting fails quite often, especially when using 3D games of graphic applications. The motherboard has been fixed twice in my friends model. I and ended up setting the fan on the full speed, plus removing HP proprietary connector to make more room for air circulation. After that temperature has dropped from 70 C to 45 C and laptop is useful again. Please poke me if you would like to find more details about it.
