I've been using Linux since 1998; first briefly SuSE, then Debian unstable until in November 2004 I had to reinstall my laptop and decided to try Ubuntu because of the Debian heritage. Now my home computer runs Dapper as my laptop. I'm also trying to convince my boss that U. is better than any "Enterprice" (pun intended) distro that starts with letter "R" :) | I've been using Linux since 1998; first briefly SuSE, then Debian unstable until in November 2004 I had to reinstall my laptop and decided to try Ubuntu because of the Debian heritage. I'm an UNIX administrator working part time for the Computing Centre of Helsinki University of Technology in Finland. Current work involves administering 200+ Linux (Debian Sarge atm) workstations and some Tru64-UNIX servers. When not working, I'm trying to finish my master's degree (major: semiconductors and materials of electronics).

What I'm interested in Ubuntu
- GNOME (in general)
- NFSv4 support. Essential for installations behind insecure networks
- making sure that Ubuntu behaves well in a campus network with hundreds of clients
- improving the framework for automatic installations
- improving various tools aimed at system administrators
Contributions so far
- distributed 650 Hoary CD's for the TKK/HUT students in September 2005
- some minor patches for the installer (grub-installer, apt-setup), zenity, gnome-session
gtkpod-aac! [http://revu.tauware.de/details.py?upid=1840]
- bug reports (launchpad, gnome, debian)
- testing fully automated netboot-installations since May 2004
Todo
- help making preseedable LVM/MD-support for debian-installer
- possibly integrate in-house applications/scripts with Ubuntu
- make PAM/LDAP/krb5 integration better
