Future Goals

In the next year I will help to organize the presenting of Ubuntu by the Cebit in Hannover and LinuxTag in Berlin. I hope that I will have time to help with the organization for two more events. I'm going to apply again for Linux days as a speaker.

At the beginning of the year I set myself for the election of one of the tree project manager of the platform ubuntuusers.de - was chosen - and I've never regretted it until now. Next year I want to run for another cycle as project manager. I understand my main activity as the project manager that all the team members of ubuntuusers.de (that are 70 people) can do their jobs without interference. It is my job, that this is possible. Another important point of this job is the content development of this platform. Not least, I try in this position, the platform users to show that Ubuntu is more than an operating system, namely, a philosophy. This is an important point for me, I will pick up again in the future.

Dirk Deimeke

I know Torsten for several years now. He is a very energetic and commited person for Ubuntu in the German community. He does quite a lot things in a very good way. Pretty much he is one of the guys I would like to see as Ubuntu members: involved, hard-working and contributing to either Ubuntu as philosophy and to the distribution of the operating system.

Till Mossakowski

I know Torsten since 2006, when we co-organised a social forum in Bremen and then founded a group with the subject of friendly technology and solidarity economics. We discussed several projects, and eventually decided to start a group on easing the installation and use of free software, in particular Ubuntu, and founded the Communtu project. From this, I know Torsten as a person who is at the same time very communicative, committed and reliable. He suggested the software framework that the group is using, and did also a lot of programming. Moreover, his humor and social skills were very important in our weekly face-to-face discussions. Personally, I find it a pity that he has left Bremen, such that contact is held by less face-to-face meetings and more online discussions and teleconferences... Anyway, Torsten provides an invaluable contribution to the German Ubuntu community. He is one of those who have deeply understood that free software is only possible via cooperation. Moreover, I always like to listen to him in order to learn about the most recent Ubuntu developments.
