I am a German currently exiled in the UK, after having spend quite some time in Texas. I am a Dipl.-Inf. from the Technical University of Darmstadt, and have obtained a MSc in Computer Science/Telecommunications from the University of Texas at Dallas. Currently I am finishing my LLB(Hons) with The Open University.

My occupation in the IT world are broad, with functions containing support, development, project and product management, as well as marketing. Currently I focus on IT in Education. I am also an Associate Lecturer and Teaching Fellow with the Open University.

Unix/Linux has always been part of my life in IT. I worked extensively with HPUX and solaris and had my first steps of Linux in the middle of the 90s. I have used in the past primarily RedHat, and SUSE, but since the inception of Hoary, I use (U|K|Edu)buntu exclusively.
