Welcome to the Kernel Hug Day! The focus of todays efforts will be migrating older kernel bugs (2.6.20 and 2.6.22) to the current Hardy kernel (2.6.24). Here we have a sampling of bugs to work on for today. After you have triaged or fixed a bug, put your name in the last column and set the row's background to green by adding lightgreen in the first cell of the column after "background-color:" and before ";". This will let people know that the bug in that row has been hugged.
You might find it more convenient to edit the wiki page using editmoin a command line utility for editing moinmoin wiki pages. It is available as a package in Gutsy and Hardy. More information including an easier way to do this was mailed to the Bug Squad.

A general reply that you may want to use when hugging these bugs is:
The Hardy Heron Alpha series is currently under development and contains an updated version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron Alpha release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/ . You should be able to test the new kernel using the LiveCD. If you can, please verify if this bug still exists or not and report back your results. General information regarding the release can also be found here: http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks.
However, please note that there are some bugs for which this reply will not be valid. For example, you can only test bug regarding Suspend from the LiveCD, not Hibernate.

Procedures
To mark a bug off any of the following lists you should:
- Ask the reporter to test against the latest Hardy kernel and verify if the issue still exists.
- Change the bug's Status to "Incomplete" and subscribe to the bug report
or
If the report already mentions this is an issue with the Hardy kernel (2.6.24), be sure a bug task against the linux package has been created, otherwise create it. Beginning with the Hardy development cycle the kernel source package naming convention changed from linux-source-2.6.xx to just linux. Do not use the linux-source-2.6.24 package.
Make sure the appropriate kernel debugging information has been gathered for the Hardy kernel. Refer to the Kernel Team Bug Policies for more information.
- If more information is needed, set the status to "Incomplete" and subscribe to the bug report. Otherwise, set the status to Confirmed, set the Importance appropriately (usually Medium will do), and assign to the ubuntu-kernel-team.
