KDE
Kubuntu Bug Day 2008-03-20
Here we have a sampling of bugs to work on for Hug Day. After you have triaged or fixed a bug put your name in the last column and set the row's background to green by adding lightgreen in the first cell of the column after "background-color:" and before ";". This will let people know that the bug in that row has been hugged.
You might find it more convenient to edit the wiki page using editmoin a command line utility for editing moinmoin wiki pages. It is available as a package in Gutsy and Hardy. More information including an easier way to do this was mailed to the Bug Squad.
Network Manager
Today we are working on bugs in knetworkmanager. Knetworkmanager is the system tray applet Kubuntu uses to connect to the network. It shares a backend with the Ubuntu (GNOME) network applet (network-manager-applet). The backend is called network-manager. A Hug Day is being held simultaneously for network-manager, so it should be easy to collaborate in #ubuntu-bugs and check if network manager bugs are present in both interfaces. If a bug is clearly not specific to the KDE interface, please reassign it to network-manager.
Keep in mind that the main goal of these hug days before release is to get hardy ready for release.
Tagging
If the syslog file is available in the bug report, please look for the kernel driver and use the name as a tag, example:
- driver-madwifi
- driver-ndiswrapper
Also add a tag based on the encryption method, example:
- encryption-wpa
- encryption-wep
- encryption-wpa2
If the bug is related to one of the VPN modules (vpnc, openvpn or pptp), please tag the bug as "vpn".
Please consult before adding new tags, there are enough already.
58 bugs in New status
These are untriaged or not confirmed network manager bugs.
To mark it off the list you should:
Ask the reporter for '/var/log/syslog' after reproducing the bug and set the bug to "Incomplete" or
If '/var/log/syslog' is present change the status to "Confirmed" and set an importance (if you are not a QA member ask someone for help) or
- Search for duplicates (and mark if found)
