Welcome to the Wiki of the UbuntuKylin Desktop Team

The objective of the UbuntuKylin project is to create a variant of Ubuntu that is more suitable for Chinese users. We are committed to provide you with a delicate, thoughtful user experience. We are applying to be an official recognition as a formal member of the Ubuntu family, commencing with UbuntuKylin 13.04.

In UbuntuKylin 13.04, we will provide:

  • Online Music Search on Dash: More simple and convenient music search, to help you find the latest, most hot Chinese pop songs.
  • Chinese Calendar: Ease of use, contains the traditional lunar calendar and the Gregorian calendar to facilitate inquiries holidays, in line with the Chinese habit of using.
  • Weather Indicator: The weather forecast information from China meterological administration, provide effective references for your daily life and travel.
  • Chinese Input Method: The default input method using fcitx, support cloud Pinyin input, more intelligent association.
  • Cooperation with WPS: Most advanced office tools for Chinese creative, compatible with multiple formats documents, powerful graphic layout, a wealth of online resources library, so that your document production is both professional and relaxed.
