Online Leadership Tutorial Sessions

These skills-based IRC workshops grow your leader's toolbox. Come and learn from your peers, share stories and tips, learn from the experience and professional training of others, and have a good time.

Coordinator: Cheesehead

How You Can Help

  • 1) Show up to a session!

    2) Volunteer to teach a session!

    • Take a look at the Skill & Trainer List below.

    • If you see a skill you are comfortable teaching, please add your name as a trainer.
    • If you see a skill you are not comfortable teaching, please add your name as an assistant.
    • Please help get the word out. We need trainers and assistants!

    3) Help us build the List of Skills,
    • It may already be identified on complete list (GoogleDoc), but simply lacks a trainer.

    • If the skill is on the complete list, please add a new row to the Skill & Trainer list, and please add your name as a trainer.

    • If the skill is not on the complete list, please add it.
    4) Ask for a skill. If you think there's a need for a session, but not trainer has stepped forward, please ping Cheesehead in #ubuntu-leadership. The Ubuntu community is an amazing and talented place, and we can find the right trainer!

Guidance for Trainers

  • You can lecture or use group-discussion based on your assessment of the subject and participants.
  • If you decide to use small-group discussion, recruit an assistant to help keep the conversation flowing, and heading in the directions you want.
  • Rehearsals help! If you want to try a 10-minute rehearsal, ping Cheesehead or anyone in #Ubuntu-leadership.
  • We do expect all trainers to have signed the Code of Conduct, and to obey the Classroom Guidelines of course. We do expect all participants to obey the Code of Conduct.
