On this page we'll attempt document all PS3 specific or related packages. This is to create a view of the software the PS3 Port team need to care for. I realise this will get out of date quickly so we'll need to look for an automatic report later. But for now I think this is useful. (munckfish)

This package is obsolete. The Cell patches have been included upstream. The core Ubuntu binutils source in Intrepid now outputs a special binutils-spu package on powerpc. However it does not provide for cross building on x86 like the old package did. Need to take this issue up with the toolchain team. |

This package is also obsolete. The spu-* packages are replaced by gcc-4.2-spu, g++-4.2-spu and so on. Again these only seem to be built for powerpc & ppc64 architectures. |

The current GDB sources in Intrepid (gdb 6.8) seem to contain SPU related code. However the debian/control file does not state that it conflicts or replaces {ppu,spu}-gdb. |
