She explains what has happened and says that Canonical are working with the software providers to address how the attackers were able to gain access. Jane also says Canonical has begun the process of notifying by email all users whose details have been compromised and apologizes “for the breach and ensuing inconvenience.”

Ubuntu 13.10's wallpaper-submission contest sees fresh new walls

razvi of iloveubuntu writes that there has been significant interest in Ubuntu 13.10's wallpaper submission process and notes that almost 200 wallpapers were submitted to Flickr in just a few days. razvi shows us a few examples and provides a link to the Saucy Salamander Wallpaper Submissions Group where all images submitted to be considered part of the Saucy Salamander release are posted.

Dota 2 Officially Released For Linux [Steam]

Andrew of WebUpd8 writes that the much awaited Dota 2 game has been officially released for Linux (Steam). He reminds us that the game is free to play and lists the minimal system requirements which include Ubuntu 12.04. There's also a short video of the official Dota 2 trailer.
