Unity Team: Unity8 Greeter on the Desktop (Split Greeter)

Writing for the Unity team, Josh Arenson brings news of a “split greeter” feature for the Unity 8 shell. The split greeter allows Unity 8 to run both with or without LightDM providing a greeter and lockscreen for Unity, a necessary feature for a convergent device. Josh says that a PPA is available for those interested in trying the new code.
