=== Exploring Desktop mode on the Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition ===

Bruce Byfield gives us his thoughts on the Aquaris M10 Ubuntu edition’s desktop mode. He concludes that the tablet provides a practical portable computing solution in spite of some limits and shortcomings.

=== Ubuntu Touch OTA-12 Will Be More About Fixes than Features, Says Canonical ===

Marius Nestor writes that the latest OTA update for Ubuntu Touch has recently arrived and that it is focused upon fixing existing software rather than adding further features. Testing of OTA 11 is set to continue in the meantime.

=== Ubuntu M10 Tablet Review Round Up ===

Joey-Elijah Sneddon from OMG! Ubuntu! Takes the highlights from several reviews of the BQ Aquaris M10 Tablet, citing reviews from Digital Trends, Trusted Reviews, ZDNet, Golem.de, PCWorld, and Tablette Tactile.

=== Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition Smartphone Review (and Giveaway) ===

Christian Cawley of Make Use Of does an extensive review the Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition, which includes videos, a photo comparison and more. He concludes: “the Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition is a solid piece of hardware that should appeal to any Ubuntu desktop user and smartphone owners disillusioned with the way things are going with iOS and Android. If Convergence can be brought into the mix on this device, and app stability issues addressed, the Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition could prove an attractive alternative to the marketplace-focused worlds of iOS and Android.”

=== 10 things you should know about the BQ Aquaris M10 tablet ===

Jack Wallen of Tech``Republic gives a rundown of ten observations about the bq Aquaris M10 tablet, including that convergence works, you are able to run GIMP and Libre``Office, the use of Scopes, Google interaction and limitations with regard to the browser and polish of the overall product. In closing, he writes: “From my perspective, it's an outstanding first entry that has been long overdue. This is a piece of hardware the Linux community should be proud of and should fully embrace.”

=== Snap – I’ve got the package! ===

Dedoimedo, writing for OCS-Mag gives a quick introduction into Snap packages, including why they’re important to the Ubuntu ecosystems and examples of installing packages. He concludes that the “concept of Snap packages sounds interesting, practical, useful, and beneficial, both to the Ubuntu ecosystem and the future proliferation of the Ubuntu operating system outside the desktop space” but he has concerns about the maturity of the current framework, writing that it’s “ still very buggy, it’s not streamlined enough, and it does not provide any great advantage over Firefox OS or Android.”

=== Meet Fancy, a Tiny Computer Running Chromium OS, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS and Android TV ===

Marius Nestor of Softpedia writes about Fancy, a new portable desktop designed to run “the latest Chromium OS, Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus), and Android TV 6.0 Marshmallow.” He shares the technical specifications and photos, and the price of the Fancy Desktop Edition in the US: $225 plus shipping.

Mark Shuttleworth writes a short post thanking the Ubuntu Community Council for their proactive interest in keeping the community happy. He concludes: “They say that it’s tough at the top because the easy problems don’t get escalated, and that is particularly true of the CC. So far, they are doing us proud.”

Meizu Pro 5 Ubuntu Edition Smartphone Review (and Giveaway)

10 things you should know about the BQ Aquaris M10 tablet

Jack Wallen of TechRepublic gives a rundown of ten observations about the bq Aquaris M10 tablet, including that convergence works, you are able to run GIMP and LibreOffice, the use of Scopes, Google interaction and limitations with regard to the browser and polish of the overall product. In closing, he writes: “From my perspective, it's an outstanding first entry that has been long overdue. This is a piece of hardware the Linux community should be proud of and should fully embrace.”

Snap – I’ve got the package!
