The current primary Let’s Encrypt CA will turn off on 13 March 2019 affecting ubuntu 16.04 LTS. The proposed updates are in backports and with sufficient testing and validation will be moved to the usual update channels. There is added info on the About Distro page in Info Center, fixes in the Kickoff applications menu, and eight components have seen updates. Marius gives a roadmap of the Plasma series development and advises that KDE Plasma 5.15.2 will soon be in the software repository, and the update is recommended. Ubuntu Touch OTA-8 pre-release builds are available via a Git``Hub Project for OTA-8 QA link, for testing and feedback. This release features enhancements to the Morph browser, improvements to other components and apps, code reduction, support for ARM64 builds, improves tests on the Ubuntu UI Toolkit (UITK), and updates the Android container pre-start script. Then we are advised of accurate clarification in this rumor’s dismissal as merely a proposal by some community member not affiliated with Ubuntu.
