Krita 4.2 Debuts with 1000+ Bug Fixes, New Features

Joey Sneddon writes that a new version of Krita is out; being described as a big release in the linked release notes and embedded video. Joey highlights some improvements in Krita 4.2, namely better support for graphics tablets, added ability to undo Move tool operations, and a slider for resizing layer thumbnails.

Linux Fix Pending For Borked Hibernation After Disabling Hyper Threading

Michael Larabel tells us about a fix on the way for those that disabled Intel hyper-threading because of concern over vulnerabilities, that cause a resume from hibernation to fail. Updating us on a 'mitigations=' option now available in Linux, Michael also mentions BSD's similar work. We are told the patch is pending for the mainline kernel, and back-porting to older kernels.

Running NVIDIA on GNOME's X.org Session May Get a Lot Smoother

Michael Larabel writes about Canonical's Daniel van Vugt work on performance optimizations for GNOME. The optimizations are not only for Ubuntu, but upstream too. The latest relate to NVIDIA when using an X.org session which will result in a 'significant improvement' to frame-rate quality. Michael expresses hope that the merge request will land for GNOME 3.33 cycle.
