Balint Reczey writes on the plan to switch iptables to use the nftables backend for the 20.10 release. Now that the LXD and microk8s blockages have been resolved, the target date for implementation is September 3.

Groovy Gorilla (to be 20.10) Feature Freeze

Steve Langasek advises that "As per the release schedule, Groovy Gorilla is now in Feature Freeze". As such, the cycle has entered Bug verification & Regression testing and no new features will be accepted without freeze exceptions - taking "care about the content of the archive".

Ubuntu Touch OTA-13 Is Coming on September 4th with Support for Many New Devices

Marius Nestor reports the UBports Foundation have announced the availability for testing, Ubuntu Touch OTA-13 using the Lomiri (Unity 8) interface. We are provided a glimpse of what's included in OTA-13 for end-users, including support for 11 new devices. KDE Plasma 5.20 Will Alert You If Your Disk Is Failing
