Edoardo Barbieri provides some IoT news: firstly we're reminded Google introduced Cloud IoT Core back in May 2017, then reports they are going to retire it on 16 August 2023. Next addressed is Amazon's acquisition of iRobot, then Ubuntu running out-of-the-box on RISC-V boards, then a little on the VIsionFive 2 RISC-V alternative to the Pi, before finally covering Bosch's new partnership and what this could mean. Xubuntu 22.10 Dev Update

Sean Davis reminds us Xubuntu 22.10 will be released on 20 October 2022, and includes the latest supported applications from Ubuntu and Xubuntu. We are reminded beta freeze arrives later this month, thus making it a great time to test. This post largely goes through the updates that are found in Xubuntu 22.10, with them broken into categories starting with Appearance. The impact GNOME 42 & libadwaita has on Xfce and Xubuntu is covered, along with great coverage of a large number of apps, plenty of links, including where to download & report your testing, and how to contact the team via Libera.chat.

Ubuntu Developer Summit is now Ubuntu Summit

Philipp Kewisch reminds us that on 7-9th of November 2022, in Prague, Czech Republic, a Ubuntu Summit is being held. In this post, Philipp outlines some of the differences with the Ubuntu Summit this year, and the Ubuntu Developer Summits held many years ago.
