Kinetic Kudu (22.10) Beta milestone reminder

Graham Inggs reminds us Ubuntu kinetic kudu (22.10) is nearing the beta milestone, with beta freeze on Monday. A request is made to get as much as possible into the 'release pocket' before freeze, to help ensure the beta is as close to final product as is possible.

Plasma 5.26 Beta available for testing

This post asks if we're running Kubuntu 22.04 LTS, or Kubuntu 22.10; as if we are, we can add the beta release of Plasma 5.26 via PPA and help test it. With the KDE disclaimer on using pre-release software, the commands are given that allow us to use it. We are given procedures for reporting any bugs found, links for more details, and details of how we can help testing. We are thanked for helping test the product.

Introducing GNOME 43, “Guadalajara”

The GNOME project proudly presents GNOME 43 "Guadalajara", with the name in "recognition of the work done by organizers of GUADEC 2022". We are given a description of some of the new features and improvements, along with some window shots. Many links are provided, including a link to the GNOME ISO image so we can try it now, if we're unwilling to wait to test on our normal distributions. A link is provided should we wish to join in the GNOME work.

Ubuntu 22.10’s New Wallpaper is an Absolute Knock-Out

Joey Sneddon tells us the default wallpaper for Ubuntu 22.10 has been "revealed". We are told the new "custom designed background image" is as expected of the African kudu. We are told it's a "carefully-rendered image" fitting with the past, but this time without "rigid geometry or bisecting circles" unlike prior images. We are told we needn't use the 22.10 image to appreciate the image though, giving us details on where we can find it so we can use it now.
