Hi. My name is Venkat Raghavan. I have been using Linux for about an year and a half now. I pretty much learnt using linux the "hard way" doing kernel compiles etc. I encourage people around me to use Linux and have successfully converted a few friends and a lab to Ubuntu :). I spend about 5-6 hours on #(k)ubuntu everyday trying to answer questions that people might have. I also try to answer questions on the [http://www.ubuntuforums.org/ Ubuntu Forums].

I have a Master in Mechanical Engineering, and am currently looking for jobs. Since I have a lot of time during my "job hunt period", I would like to pick up skills in building packages, documentation procedures etc. and generally helping Ubuntu out, as I intend to use it for a very long time to come.

Plans with Ubuntu

Currently, I am a member of NewUserMentors and [https://launchpad.net/people/wikiteam WikiTeam].I would like to spend more time help clean up the wiki and learn to package the right way. I would like to build packages for [http://www.pyrorobotics.org pyro], when I get it all figured out!
