Software Freedom Day 2009

What!?

Software Freedom Day is a day where people all over the world come together to:

1. Celebrate software freedom and the people behind it.
2. Foster a general understanding of software freedom, and encourage adoption of free software and open standards.
3. Create more equal access to opportunities through the use of participatory technologies.
4. Promote constructive dialogue on responsibilities and rights in the information society.
5. Be inclusive of organizations and individuals that share our Vision.
6. Be pragmatic, transparent, and responsible as an organisation.

But what can we actually do to get these goals to be achieved? We are going to have a meeting in IRC to discuss our actual methods however there are some predefined ones which we will take interest in here.

SFD 2009 will take place on 19th September 2009.
