• Chipset: FOUND WITH COMMAND lspci -v | grep -A 4 Eth. PASTE OUTPUT BETWEEN BRACKETS ON NEXT LINE

• Vendor/Device #: SEE BELOW TO FIND THIS INFO

• Run this command for pci/pcmcia devices:

    sudo lspci -v | grep -A 4 Eth

    You will see something like this.

    0000:03:00.0 Ethernet controller: Atheros Communications, Inc. AR5212 802.11abg NIC (rev 01)
          Subsystem: D-Link System Inc: Unknown device 3a1a

  Then run this command:

    lspci -n

  Match up the fist column

    0000:03:00.0 0200: 168c:0013 (rev 01)

  In this example the 168c:0013 is the vendor/device #

  Note: This will not work for USB devices. Run  lsusb  instead.
