    1. Estimated time: 10 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Simon Quigley

    1. Estimated time: 5 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Mike Putnam
    3. We need a new meeting time, as a LUG meeting(I think Milwaukee) happens at the same time.
    4. Although Simon put this item in, I am giving this one to Mike, as he knows the LUG schedule.
  3. Verification (29 minutes in the video)

    1. Estimated time: 10 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Simon Quigley
    3. We need to get verified to receive various perks from Canonical to operate better. So we need to fit together some key elements to make this a functional team.
    4. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LoCoCouncil/TeamVerificationGuidelines

    5. Some ideas:
      1. Regional leaders?
      2. Regular IRL meetings?
      3. Weekly IRC meetings?
      4. Talks or Ubuntu seminars?
    6. Ways to spread Ubuntu to get more members here?
  4. Wiki Page Updates (34 minutes 19 seconds in the video)

    1. Estimated time: 5 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Simon Quigley
    3. I did a major update to the wiki pages, removing or hiding obsolete content and working with Alex to give it a new look.
    4. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WisconsinTeam

  5. New Artwork (38 minutes 49 seconds in the video)

    1. Estimated time: 10 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Alex Dueppen
    3. Alex shows us his new artwork for the LoCo and gets feedback on what he has made.

  6. Website? (42 minutes 2 seconds in the video)

    1. Estimated time: 5 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Simon Quigley
    3. Should we have a website for our LoCo, or is the wiki page sufficient?

    4. Some uses of the website would be:
      1. IRC Client specific page
      2. Livestream page with embedded IRC client
      3. Positions(who does what and contact info)
  7. Ubuntu Online Summit (1 hour 7 minutes and 42 seconds in the video)

    1. Estimated time: 5 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Simon Quigley
    3. The Ubuntu Online Summit took place from November 3-5, 2015.
    4. All of the sessions: http://summit.ubuntu.com/uos-1511/

    5. Track summaries: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtctPsfZ1VU

  8. Ubuntu 16.04 Release Party? (1 hour 9 minutes and 55 seconds in the video)

    1. Estimated time: 10 minutes
    2. Agenda item owner: Simon Quigley
    3. We should really have an IRL release party for the release of Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus in April.
    4. Best place?
    5. Best time/date?
    6. Funding?

You can add the earlier logs to the meeting later, when you add it to the wiki page. :)

01:15

adueppen

we might want to come up with ideas here and then propose it to the list

01:21

nhaines

Yup, that's the one!

01:22

01:27

adueppen

ok turning on my webcam here

01:27

nhaines

I recommend redirecting the domain name to the main wiki page immediately. And then that buys you time while you figure out what to do with the site.

01:37

nhaines

It's better to get some kind of CMS in place to make it easier for contributors, as opposed to hand editing. :)

01:37

adueppen

I can go make a Github org for the LoCo right now

01:38

nhaines

I definitely agree: figure out whether to use a website and then what audience it will serve. Pick the tools afterward.

* To help document and to fill in people that couldn't make it, I set it up so the Hangout will be livestreamed on YouTube. This is also so that the people that are not participating, but are on IRC(or outside observers such as members of the LoCo council) can just watch. 5-10 minutes before the meeting starts, I will commence the livestream and I will paste the link in the IRC channel(#ubuntu-us-wi). So that means any joins, leaves, anything you say, will be put on the livestream for other people to watch. Please do NOT participate if you are UNDER 13 years of age, due to privacy laws in the United States. Legal consequences will be taken if this happens, not only for me(Simon Quigley), the publisher, but for you, the participant. If you just don't want your face shown/voice heard, then use the mute/turn webcam off button in Hangouts, and use IRC to communicate if you muted yourself. Obviously, make sure that your microphone doesn't sound awful if that is what you choose to use. The video and livestream are licensed under Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0). Any interpretations of this statement are controlled by the chair of the meeting. (all of this information is just a legal disclaimer, just in case)

tsimonq2

00:59

tsimonq2

adueppen? you were talking to me in Hangouts...get over here! XD :P

01:00

adueppen

01:00

tsimonq2

01:00

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: how have you been?

01:01

mikeputnam

good! you?

01:01

tsimonq2

awesoe :D

01:01

tsimonq2

*awesome

01:01

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: have any fun projects that you have been working on?

01:01

mikeputnam

unrelated to anything, this is a neat .js library that can do amazing visualizations: http://paperjs.org/examples/

01:01

tsimonq2

oh cool

01:02

mikeputnam

the nyan rainbow one is particularly neat

01:02

adueppen

Just a heads-up, I won't be talking much here since I'm doing QA. I swear I'm not turning into Simon.

01:02

mikeputnam

audio volume incr/decr with the visual

01:02

tsimonq2

adueppen: XD wot m8? :P

01:02

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: ha ha cool :D

01:02

adueppen

tsimonq2: I'm doing that task

01:02

tsimonq2

oh ok :)

01:03

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: oh WOW that's AWESOME LOL

01:03

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: neat :)

01:03

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: so have you worked on anything notable this past few weeks?

01:04

adueppen

Actually i will still be talking a bit since i have my tablet here

01:04

tsimonq2

or have you found out something cool that you can do with your Ubuntu machine, mikeputnam?

01:04

tsimonq2

adueppen: same goes for you :)

01:04

mikeputnam

i've been tinkering on a python rss/atom feed parser thing that will hopefully incite people to edit a wiki by way of playful competition

01:04

tsimonq2

ooh, fun :)

01:05

adueppen

I've been working on Google Code-in

01:05

adueppen

And I made my wiki page

01:05

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: you have anything to link us, or are you just describing the concept? :)

01:05

tsimonq2

adueppen: yay! link?

01:05

mikeputnam

backstory: i wrote an emailer script (python) that i run on a weekly cron that looks up a google calendar for the current week's events and sends an email to our Makerspace's mailing list

01:05

adueppen

http://wiki.ubuntu.com/adueppen I think that's the right link, i

01:06

tsimonq2

oh that's pretty SWEET, mikeputnam :D

01:06

mikeputnam

just adding the wiki stuff to that

01:06

adueppen

Had ti hand-type that

01:06

adueppen

To*

01:06

tsimonq2

adueppen: cool :D

01:06

tsimonq2

adueppen: you might want to add a little more content, it looks a bit blank

01:07

tsimonq2

and you would be surprised what you can put on there

01:07

adueppen

I know, I'll be working on it this weekend

01:07

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: any recommendations from you about adueppen's wiki page?

01:07

mikeputnam

here is an example of the email output (before wiki)

01:08

mikeputnam

- Make the Space! Monday 6:00PM-10:00PM

01:08

mikeputnam

-

01:08

mikeputnam

oops

01:08

mikeputnam

http://i.imgur.com/xncfpkZ.png

01:09

mikeputnam

that ^

01:09

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: oh cool, so what have you been adding to it?

01:09

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: will it now output to a wiki page?

01:10

tsimonq2

or what?

01:10

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: I just don't know how the wiki page aspect fits into this, that's all

01:11

mikeputnam

it will read the Recent Changes RSS feed for our makerspace's wiki

01:11

tsimonq2

oh cool :)

01:11

mikeputnam

then show a "leaderboard" of who edited the most

01:11

tsimonq2

ha that's cool

01:11

mikeputnam

(hopefully inciting people to want to compete to edit more)

01:12

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: speaking of leaderboards, look at what I am on top of for Xenial: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/reports/testers

01:12

mikeputnam

winning!

01:12

tsimonq2

number one tester for Xenial :D

01:12

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: and #80 for all time: http://iso.qa.ubuntu.com/qatracker/reports/testers/top100

01:13

tsimonq2

gonna get to (at least) #20 before Juse, when I apply for membership

01:13

tsimonq2

*June

01:14

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: but cool concept, keep us updated :)

01:14

adueppen

Welp found an issue with the testing here

01:14

tsimonq2

adueppen: ruh roh, what did you do?

01:14

adueppen

The manual partitioning testcase

01:14

tsimonq2

adueppen: talk to me in Hangouts

01:15

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: besides the system requirements on the flavors being wrong, do you have anything to suggest for http://ubuntu-wisconsin.org/?

01:16

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: my goal is to get it finished by our next meeting

01:17

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: and adueppen is doing/did some artwork for it

01:18

tsimonq2

it looks great so far :)

01:18

mikeputnam

looking good!

01:19

tsimonq2

yay!

01:19

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: and if looking it over, you find a typo or something, here is the Github link: https://github.com/wisconsinlinux/wisconsinlinux.github.io

01:20

mikeputnam

one piece of feedback: at first glance, i didn't notice the heading/menu and just saw the "work in progress" thinking there wasn't much to see

01:20

mikeputnam

tsimonq2: that's the link to the one i maintain ;)

01:21

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: so how could that be fixed?

01:21

tsimonq2

whoops wrong link, sorry :)

01:21

mikeputnam

(well... we maintain)

01:21

tsimonq2

https://github.com/ubuntuwisconsin/ubuntuwisconsin.github.io

01:22

tsimonq2

heh I got it ;)

01:22

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: I am going to put more information on the home page

01:22

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: but any code suggestions?

01:23

mikeputnam

totally subjective, but I'd put the http://ubuntu-wisconsin.org/AboutUbuntu/ first paragraph on the main page

01:23

tsimonq2

that's my plan :)

01:23

mikeputnam

and the "What does it look like?" section

01:23

tsimonq2

yeah, I gotta go through and fix a couple things with those images :)

01:24

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: but does that seem like all?

01:24

mikeputnam

yes i think that would be a great start to a page that is aimed at non-ubuntu users.

01:25

tsimonq2

ok :)\

01:25

mikeputnam

check out ubuntu! here's what it is!

01:25

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: on our next informal IRC meeting as well as the main monthly one, I am gonna ask for more input

01:26

tsimonq2

but yeah, my goal is to be able to link a newbie to this and for them to walk out being able to install it and/or get support

01:26

tsimonq2

that was the goal of the site, right?

01:26

mikeputnam

yes i think so

01:27

tsimonq2

ok, good

01:28

tsimonq2

and speaking of the next meeting, I prepared a wiki page along with some agenda items

01:28

tsimonq2

adueppen, mikeputnam: So maybe you should check it out and give feedback on the agenda items and the wiki page: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MeetingLogs/WisconsinTeam/20160108

01:29

tsimonq2

your choice

01:29

tsimonq2

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

01:29

tsimonq2

mikeputnam: I also plan on working with adueppen to get the Quick Start page good to go

01:30

tsimonq2

so I think that is it

01:30

adueppen

and I'm still here doing QA if you need to say something to me

01:31

tsimonq2

unless someone has another cool thing to link us to, I think we can conclude this little informal meeting

01:31

tsimonq2

adueppen: ok :)

01:31

tsimonq2

adueppen: just read the logs :)

01:31

tsimonq2

ok, that seems to be it. thanks guys, and see you around! :)
