Xiphos is a Bible program which runs under almost any Linux and is focused on the GNOME window manager rather than KDE (as BibleTime is). It is included as a component of ChristianUbuntu.
Part of Sword
Xiphos is a sub-project of the Sword Bible access project, which provides the basic library files, assorted free Bible texts, access to not-so-free Bible texts, Bible access programs ("clients") for Linux, Macintosh, Windows and other platforms.
The Xiphos sub-project is hosted at SourceForge.
Ethos

Xiphos (Greek: ξίφος) is a double-edged, single-hand sword used by the ancient Greeks.
