Xiphos is a Bible program which runs under almost any Linux and is focused on the [[http://www.gnome.org/|GNOME]] window manager rather than [[http://www.kde.org/|KDE]] (as BibleTime is). It is included as a component of [[DerivativeTeam/Derivatives/ChristianUbuntu|ChristianUbuntu]].

Xiphos is a sub-project of the [[http://www.crosswire.org/sword/|Sword]] Bible access project, which provides the basic library files, [[http://www.crosswire.org/sword/modules/ModDisp.jsp?modType=Bibles|assorted free Bible texts]], access to not-so-free Bible texts, Bible access programs ("clients") for Linux, Macintosh, Windows and other platforms.
