The Documentation consists of:

  • A Xubuntu Browser-Startpage
  • The Xubuntu Desktop Documentation
  • Community Wiki Documentation

The first two pieces of Documentation are part of the ubuntu-doc bazaar repository on Launchpad.

Check the current published version of the Xubuntu documentation on https://help.ubuntu.com/community/

Contributing

Please help! To get started, you may want to read the pages DocumentationTeam and DocumentationTeam/GettingStarted. Information on how to check out the current documentation may be found here: DocumentationTeam/Repository. Please provide patches against the latest repository. Information about the Xubuntu wiki may be found here: /Wiki

If you don't feel like learning about the technical stuff(bazaar, DocBook, writing patches), you may also simply read the [http://doc.ubuntu.com/xubuntu draft builds] of the documentation, and then send texts, ideas & suggestions to either ubuntu-doc@lists.ubuntu.com or xubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com.

Bugs

To keep track of issues with the documentation, a [https://launchpad.net/~xubuntu-doc/ Xubuntu Documentation Team] was created on launchpad.

You can always see the list of bugs assigned to this team at https://bugs.launchpad.net/~xubuntu-doc/+assignedbugs

If you want to report a bug in the documentation, head over this way: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xubuntu-docs/+bugs

You can review the bugs filed against the xubuntu-docs package at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xubuntu-docs/

When reporting bugs in development versions of the Xubuntu documentation, you may find it helpful to reference the most recent [http://doc.ubuntu.com/xubuntu html builds] of the documentation (which are refreshed nightly), or (for the more adventurous) the [https://code.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu-doc/ source code] on Launchpad.

Alternative Documentation

Some people like screencasts are a way of documenting software. There is a "Quick Tour of Xubuntu 6.06" in Flash, which may be found [http://www.doink.ch/xubuntu-doc/xubuntu-flash-quick-tour.html here]. Also check out Xubuntu/ScreencastHowto or head over to ScreencastTeam to learn how to make your own.
