Introduction
Welcome to the Xubuntu Team reporting page. Every month this page should be filled with bullet points indicating the summary of some of the work you have been working on. As you work on something, try to summarise it here. A few guidelines for how to write good points here:
- Keep it simple and short - single sentences are best;
- Try to summarise your work and not be over-detailed; and
- Where possible, include relevant links.
You should get all your reporting included here by the 22nd of every month.

Artwork
- Jmak is waiting for usplash to be updated.
- Jmak is working on finalizing icon and gtk theme details.
Community
- Cody (cody-somerville) will be sending an updated version of Strategy Document to CC by end of month for final reading.
Documentation
- Nothing to report.
Marketing
- Pasi Lallinaho appointed as Xubuntu Marketing Lead.
- Pasi has begun work on redesigning the Xubuntu website.
Pasi developed a countdown banner for Xubuntu Intrepid release, see [http://emonk.fi/open/xubuntu/xubuntu-countdown-draft-2.png draft]
- Vincent (vinnl) appointed as Xubuntu Website Lead.
Packaging, Development, & Testing
- Alpha 5 and 6 released.
- Updated xubuntu-artwork-usplash to provide usplash-theme.
- Found bug in germinate that was causing Ubuntu's usplash package to be pulled in and overwrite ours.
- Fixed bug where xscreensaver was being pulled in.
- Several packages updated (such as thunar-thumbnails).
- Jannis, Michael, and Cody have begun looking at getting Thunar-Samba in Intrepid.
- Michael (NCommander) has been appointed as the Xubuntu Debian Liaison.
- Jannis (JPohlmann) has been appointed as the Xubuntu Xfce Liaison.
- NCommander packaged xfce 4.6 alpha "pinkie" into Xubuntu Developer PPA.
- Charlie Kravetz is working on organizing a hug day that brings upstream developers, Ubuntu developers, Xubuntu developers, and xubuntu community contributors, testers, and users together.
- Seeded "Listen" to see if people like that better than Audacious; needs work if we're going to ship it.

Artwork
Pasi (knome) has been working on drafting Xubuntu artwork guidelines.
Bug Triage
- Bug triage proceeding at a steady pace. Many bugs were triaged this month.
- A high number of bugs were reported upstream.
Community
- Cody, Jannis, Michael, and Pasi all attended the Ubuntu Developer Summit in Mountain View, California
- Cody and Pasi attended FOSSCamp in Mountain View, California.
Substantial amount of work has been done on drafting the Jaunty "Growing the Xubuntu Community" specification.
Documentation
- Jim, Pasi, and Jannis are brainstorming an idea to work closely with upstream and other distributions to rewrite the upstream documentation.
- Jim has run some scripts to start converting Ubuntu docs to Xubuntu docs. Docs require some cleanup, but it is a good start.
Marketing
New website parallel to Intrepid release.
Substantial amount of work has been done on drafting the Jaunty "Growing the Xubuntu Community" specification.
Packaging, Development, & Testing
- Alpha 2 released.
Updated xubuntu-meta package to fix armel build failure (Thanks to Sarah Hobbs).
Add libxine1-ffmpeg to recommends for xfmedia.
Michael (NCommander) has begun backport of Xfce 4.4.3 to Intrepid.
Corrected an internationalization issue in en_IN local for Orage where the start/end buttons show the date number, but not the day of the week properly.
- Charlie Kravetz (charlie-tca) appointed to Xubuntu QA lead.
- Charlie (charlie-tca) has been working on improving the testing wiki pages including the Xubuntu test cases.
Cody Somerville (cody-somerville) packaged Sion, a gio/vfs mount manager, from the Xfce4 goodies.
Lionel (mr_pouit) packaged a new upstream release of xfce4-dict (0.5.2) and xfburn (0.4.0).
