About Me

Namskar, I am Abhijit Navale from Panvel, Maharashtra State, India. I am a Computer Engineering Student at Mumbai University. C and C++ are my favorite programming languages. I like to program. I am always testing new technologies in software fields which are related to end user. I am less interested in backend.

My introduction to Linux was like everyone eles's. We were doing a robotic project and we need to program a microcontroller. We dont have its programming kit at that time which was expensive. My friend Vishal suggested me that in Linux there is free programme available, and he showed me the Ubuntu first time. After enough introduction about Linux from him, my first question was that , "If this whole damn thing is free (free as in beer! Wink ;) ) then why people use MS? and why not Linux?"

  • ...and then I dive into Linux world in to deep. I thanks Vishal for introducing me to Linux. Smile :)

My Contribution

I generally prefer to contribute by helping new comers in #ubuntu. I hang a lot there in #ubuntu to help. (And to take help! Smile :) ). You can contact me there for any Ubuntu related help or discussion!

At the writing of this page, I am new to Ubuntu BugSquad. I am now slowly learning how to triage and about bugs.

Also I write some community wiki for ubuntu e.g. IBus community wiki is written by me.

Areas of Interests

As I said earlier I like to code. These days I am (trying Wink ;) ) learning python. I would like to be a Quality manager for some software. Regarding my life I would like to be a successfull businessman in coming future!!! These are my hobbies: Manashakti Sadhak, Grapholigist (Handwriting Analysis), Painting, Robotics, Calligraphy,Learning new programming languages and Business (no field limit!! Smile :) ).

IRC

Internet Relay Chat (IRC) is a form of real-time Internet text messaging (chat) or synchronous conferencing. It is mainly designed for group communication in discussion forums, called channels, but also allows one-to-one communication via private message as well as chat and data transfers via Direct Client-to-Client.

I am there always in #ubuntu channel in irc.freenode.net network. And as time permits I hang around in some other channels too. You can find me in #ubuntu-bugs,#omg!ubuntu!,#ubuntu-offtopic,#ubuntu-classroom and #ubuntu-classroom-chat channels.

Teams I follow

I am currently subscribed to Indian LoCo team, Marathi Translation Team, Gujarati Translation Team, Ubuntu Manual Team and Ubuntu BugSquad.

Projects I am interested and working on

Other than Ubuntu I like to contribute some time to AbiWord and OpenOffice.

Future Plans

I am planning to learn some additional programming languages. As well as I wish to contribute on real coding of Ubuntu some day!

Time

I live in India. My time zone is UTC + 05:30. My availability in terms of UTC : From 14:30 UTC To 18:30 UTC.
