this is my experience with Ubuntu at work

what works

• using windows share for systems in windows domain

what does not works and was working on windows

• software made for windows
• Internet Explorer specific web sites (installed IE7 using wine-tricks but there was no address bar)
• coping files from windows share to a FTP client (Filezilla) on the desktop machine for uploading on Third machine

notes

• gnome desktop icons have multi defects like (overlapping, Huge, big horizontal gap after reducing icons size, content preview breaks icons arrangement)
