About Me

I want to be able to say Ubuntu is the ideal OS for everyone regardless of technical skills. There is a lot of work to be done to make sure Ubuntu beginners do not fall in to any of the traps there are in an otherwise slick OS. I believe I can help the team move forward to achieve this goal with improvements to the software or documentation.

I hope there is a place on the team where my skills can be of use.

Relevant Skills

My day job involves analysing user scenarios, devising solutions, writing requirements, working with programmers and software suppliers and managing priorities. I am not a programmer or an IT technician.

OS Experience

I had been trying Linux for 10+ years but finally changed over full time at when Lucid came out. In the past I have used IBM mainframes, IRIX, AIX, MSDOS and Windows 1-7.

Driving Philosophy

I put a great deal of importance in good user interfaces that can save learning time, forum searching, beginner despair and mistakes. Since Maverick came out I have never needed the Terminal, purely because I am interested in the state of Linux GUIs.
