I, Matthieu Baerts, apply for upload rights for these packages:

Who I am

I'm a student of UCL (Louvain-la-Neuve - Belgium) and a member of the Cairo-Dock team and other projects which support Free Software. For more details, please have a look to my main page on this wiki.

My Ubuntu story

Tell us how and when you got involved, what you liked working on and what you could probably do better. I've been using Ubuntu as the primary OS since 2008 after having tested Mandrake, Mandriva and Ubuntu Warty (with its great and famous liveCD) and used Debian Etch 64bits just after its release in April 2007.

My involvement

I always use the development release of Ubuntu on x86_64 (from the alphas to the stable release). So I post and fix a few bugs reports when I've a few free time. I started doing debian packages with Cairo-Dock 2.0 in order to add its plug-ins in Ubuntu repos. I'm part of an organisation which promotes the Free Software by installing Ubuntu and helping users every working weeks and by organizing a few events. I also participate to the UDS-M (but only one day).

Examples of my work / Things I'm proud of

* Developing for the Cairo-Dock project of course Smile :) . During these years, I mainly tried to improve the user experience and supporting new changes on API which are used by the dock. I also like creating useless applets like Impulse: http://youtu.be/9WNodluOc3o Wink ;) * Working on Cairo-Dock packaging (Ubuntu repos and Cairo-Dock repos for Ubuntu (Weekly and stable versions) and Debian (stable version) and its Ubuntu integration (by maintaining Ubuntu's Indicator applets, by adding a Cairo-Dock session, etc.) * But I also tried to patch other free software (there is a part of the list here) like this patch for Nautilus 3.2.1-0ubuntu4.2.

Areas of work

Let us know what you worked on, with which development teams / developers with whom you cooperated and how it worked out.
