There was a time when I was quite involved with Ubuntu being involved with the Wiki team, GB and AU Translation teams and the now defunct UDSF. I also spent some time as a moderator of Ubuntu Forums and became an Ubuntu Member some time in 2006. I then wondered off for a couple of years and let all Ubuntu activities fade.
I started using Ubuntu again with Hardy and was pleasantly surprised at how far it had come. I then began looking at some of the Ubuntu derivative projects.
Of these it is #CrunchBang that really captured my interest. An excellent implementation of the Openbox environment.
