About
My name is Jimmy Harris. I am an Application Engineer for a company that distributes management software for school districts within the US and Canada. Most of my job involves installing, configuring and administering MySQL, Java, Apache Tomcat, Red Hat Linux, Windows, IVR-based products, project management and writing technical documentation.
I live in Orlando, Florida, am very happily married and have two sweet baby girls. I enjoy spending all of the time I can with my wee family. Other than that I am busy with Ubuntu, music and great wine.
I have been using Ubuntu since the release of 5.04 Hoary Hedgehog and I have been playing catch up ever since. Not too long ago I purchased a laptop from System 76 that I am very proud of it mostly because it ships with my favorite Linux distribution - Ubuntu.
Even though I have worked with and have personally tinkered with various flavors of Linux (SuSe, Fedora, Mandriva, Arch, et al) none have matched the richness of Ubuntu. I have truly made Ubuntu an undeniable part of my life. I am committed to advocating the use of Ubuntu in my community.

Testimonials
Pak33m is a great asset for the Ubuntu Florida Local Community Team. He has been the Team Contact and organizer for all of the events the Florida Team has taken part in for Orlando. He made a great effort to present at practically every team meeting, and has provided the team with very good ideas on how and where we can make improvements not in a critical way but genuinely in efforts to help improve the team overall. He is involved with other Ubuntu Projects and is a great contributor for all of those other teams. Another really cool thing about Jimmy, He is Florida Team's resident DJ, and represented the Team DJ'ing for the Florida Linux Show earlier this year. Every LoCo should have outstanding members like Jimmy. -- itnet7 2009-05-20 03:47:06
