About Me
I am from Montevideo Uruguay, I am an astronomer scientist and work in Observatorio Astronomico Los Molinos and i'm also teacher in Facultad de Ciencias, and joined the uruguayan Ubuntu community back in 2Uruguayan Ubuntu Community. I started using GNU/Linux with Knopix in a high school course, and after trying openSuse and Fedora I am using Ubuntu since Hardy Heron, and recently I have become Ubuntu Member. Now I am using Karmic Koala.
My Goals
To learn more about Linux and Ubuntu distribution and help other people who wish to migrate to the opensource world, by using Ubuntu or Linux in general. As as personal perspective, i think the tools to learn our world should be open to everybody as the way the science and knowledge is, it should be for everybody and no licenses should be payed. The scientific community is using the Linux OS world wide and Ubuntu in my opinion is THE operating system for the scientist and researcher, and i feel myself with the moral duty of testing applications, giving feedback and ideas to improve Ubuntu.
