I have been using Linux since 2006 when I was first introduced to Ubuntu Hoary. Since then I have tried some other distributions, such as Fedora Core, but I feel Ubuntu is the best. I use Linux everyday for everything. This includes games, work, development, video editing, chatting, downloading, and all other day-to-day activities.
I am not very hardocre (yet!) and therefore am not fully comfortable with C/C++, Python, and such, though I have traversed the much into PHP.

===Contributions=== My contributions to Ubuntu so far have been concentrated in the Ubuntu Forums, where I have been an active participant since Fall of 2007. I have also advocated Ubuntu throughout my regional area by providing CD's and installation/maintenance help. By ensuring that more people can fix errors they encounter when using Ubuntu, I have helped transition Linux and Open-Source software from garages of computer junkies to the mass consumer market.

===Goals===

First off, I would like to learn those basic programming languages that would increase my value to the Ubuntu team (C, C++, Python). Sometime in the near future I hope to become a developer and contribute directly to Ubuntu. I want to build my skills enough to work at Ubuntu for a summer, and perhaps get a full time job there. The Ubuntu California team is growing, and I hope that it reaches new heights. Go Ubuntu!
I would like to get involved and contribute my own code to the market, preferably in a project useful to the average power-user. Though I mainly use Ubuntu and Fedora, my inclinations and prospects are open to the entire Linux and open source community.

About

I am currently studying Electrical Engineering at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). I have been using Linux since 2005 when I was first introduced to Ubuntu Hoary. Since then I have used several distributions including Fedora, openSUSE, and Linux Mint. I'm a developer capable of managing the full stack and I hope to pursue projects in the open source community.

Contributions

My contributions to Ubuntu so far have been concentrated in the Ubuntu Forums, where I have been an active participant since Fall of 2007. I have also advocated Ubuntu throughout my regional area by providing CD's and installation/maintenance help. By ensuring that more people can fix errors they encounter when using Ubuntu, I have helped transition Linux and Open-Source software from garages of computer junkies to the mass consumer market.

Goals

I would like to get involved and contribute my own code to the market, preferably in a project useful to the average power-user. Though I mainly use Ubuntu and Fedora, my inclinations and prospects are open to the entire Linux and open source community.
