I am currently studying Electrical Engineering at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). I have been using Linux since 2005 when I was first introduced to Ubuntu Hoary. Since then I have used several distributions including Fedora, openSUSE, and Linux Mint. I have about a year of C++ experience and plan on pursuing projects and jobs in the open source community. | I am a graduate student at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). I am interested in applications of signal processing, information theory, and physics simulation. I have been using Linux since 2005 when I was first introduced to Ubuntu Hoary. In recent years, I have become a fan of Fedora. |

My contributions to Ubuntu so far have been concentrated in the Ubuntu Forums, where I have been an active participant since Fall of 2007. I have also advocated Ubuntu throughout my regional area by providing CD's and installation/maintenance help. By ensuring that more people can fix errors they encounter when using Ubuntu, I have helped transition Linux and Open-Source software from garages of computer junkies to the mass consumer market. | The web is a wonderful place, and I enjoy reading and giving back to open-source / open-information communities. I am always available for installation and configuration help, but often times the Ubunut Forums are the best place to ask. (Even for other distributions like Fedora!) |

I would like to get involved and contribute my own code to the market, preferably in a project useful to the average power-user. Though I mainly use Ubuntu, my inclinations and prospects are open to the entire Linux and open source community. | A personal goal of mine is to develop an open-source physics engine. For the broader community, I hope linux will become prevalent and mainstream. The best way to make this a reality is to keep using it and advocate free software to everyone you know. |
