Grub Splash Images

Based on Human and Glossy Ubuntu, I've done two splash images for grub.

Concept

Human Ubuntu

Glossy Ubuntu

Full Size [attachment:HumanUbuntu.png png] - [attachment:HumanUbuntu.svg svg]

Full Size [attachment:GlossyUbuntu.png png] - [attachment:GlossyUbuntu.svg svg]

[attachment:HumanUbuntu.xpm.gz .xpm.gz file] (grub ready)

[attachment:GlossyUbuntu.xpm.gz .xpm.gz file] (grub ready)

Guidelines

  1. Create the folder splashimages in /boot/grub

    •  sudo mkdir /boot/grub/splashimages

  2. Copy .xpm.gz files into /boot/grub/splashimages

  3. Edit your Grub menu.lst and add this line:

    • for Human theme:
      •  splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splashimages/HumanUbuntu.xpm.gz

      or for Glossy theme:
      •  splashimage=(hd0,0)/grub/splashimages/GlossyUbuntu.xpm.gz

NOTE: Change the partition and directory according to your system's setup.

  4. Reboot your system to see the new grub splash image! Wink ;)
