The Toronto chapter of Ubuntu Canada meets every other Wednesday at 6:30pm at the [http://www.linuxcaffe.ca linuxcaffe].

Hardy Heron (8.04) Toronto Launch Party

It's a few days away as of this writing and Toronto would like to show it's appreciation for this distribution that we all love. Let's get together at [http://www.linuxcaffe.ca linuxcaffe], have some hot chocolate or coffee and have a demo. I'd like to do an online upgrade from 7.10 to 8.04 on that day using linuxcaffe's wireless connection.

So, first things first. We need a date that we can meet so let's use the mailing list to propose a meeting date.

Two dates have been proposed.

• Monday April 28th, 2008

• Excellent turnout with representation from the entire Greater Toronto Area
• Special Guest was

After some quick introductions we got an opportunity to salvage a Vista tainted computer and within an hour it was resurrected as a clean installed Ubuntu 7.10 . Our guest had the opportunity to help sort out a WiFi problem for a member and there was a demonstration of some of the features under development

• [http://www.linuxcaffe.ca linuxcaffe].once again proved to be the perfect venue for holding an Ubuntu Toronto Meeting. Special thanks to DJP for accommodating the ever expanding need for seating (personal note "Great Hot Chocolate")
