There was very little time for artwork during the Lucid release. Additionally, major changes to the Ubuntu branding was announced in the week of artwork freeze. We also received our final logos just the week before release. Despite those factors, the Edubuntu artwork for Lucid ended up being a great improvement over previous releases. We embraced the new "light" theme of Ubuntu, while retaining a level of contrast that is both aesthetically pleasing and usable.

Edubuntu Colours
Previously, the Edubuntu colours were basically the yellow/orange/red shades from its logo. In Lucid we just grabbed colours from the wallpaper and added a few essentials.
