= About Us =

We are the Ubuntu Georgia Local Community Team (LoCo Team). We promote Ubuntu, Linux, and Open Source in the state of Georgia. We also provide support, free CDs, as well as events for people who want to know more about Ubuntu. The Georgia LoCo was formed in early 2007, and has grown ever since. We have branched out and now have members in every portion of the state.

Our Team is governed by a team council, which votes on major LoCo issues. Our team is divided into sub-teams and individuals that perform specific tasks that keep the LoCo running.

Our goal is Ubuntu's ultimate success in Georgia. Our job is only beginning.

Ubuntu Georgia LoCo People

These are the people that make the Georgia LoCo what it is:

Joshua Chase

  • Georgia LoCo Team Leader - Leads the team and defines team direction.

  • Team Contact - Official team contact for external sources and Canonical

  • Marketing Manager - Leads the drive to market Ubuntu in Georgia

  • Marketing Event Lead - Primary leader for setting up large-scale functions for the LoCo

Nick Ali (BoredandBlogging)

  • Forum Moderator - Helps support the forum

  • Project Coordinator - Makes sure that projects do not get neglected and people get assigned and stay on task. Also maintains the Project Page.

Jon Reagan

  • New User Team Lead - Leads the drive to help new users to Ubuntu.

  • Team Coordinator - Organizes events such as the IRC meetings, face to face meetings, and works to ensure that the team is working smoothly.
