The USB based internal WiFi interface is not detected by Ubuntu out of the box. The WiFi device is a USB attached (internal) Prism2 based chipset, last known to work with the linux-wlan-ng drivers and userland tools, along with hotplug configuration (last known to work with Debian Sid).
