You can monitor the Raid Controller States on HP Hardware with cpqarrayd. This daemon writes Raid Controller Errors to syslog. Warty doesn't contain this package, but with this little instruction guide, it is easy to install -> http://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-users/2005-January/020311.html
