Continuing on the work we have completed in previous blueprints, I'd like for this session to focus on what can be done to continue our efforts in making bugs and bug work more of a fixed priority for the team as well as determining what changes can be made to our current method of determining the bugs to be put on the Top 50 list. We'll also review the utility of the Top 50 and gather ideas on improvements there should that process be seen as effective. |

Work has started on updating the Ubuntu drivers. Work centers on updating aufs2 which is a blocker for(performant) live-cds. Pulled in an experimental version of aufs2 for testing in v2.6.36. Also pulled this up to v2.6.37-rc1 and did some testing. Looking good so far. Work items assigned to the individual engineers for upstreaming. |

GRUB2 supports programming a VBE mode in the boot loader and telling the kernel about it, causing the kernel to use a framebuffer at boot. With Linux 2.6.34, vesafb/efifb can hand over smoothly to a KMS driver, allowing us to assemble all of this into something very close to a flicker-free boot splash process. |
