Current Issues
RE: Breezy
Any reference to the HP-ized Hoary by Thomas Schneller is the iso found at this link: http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/custom/20050516/
1) Hibernation does not work. Laptop performs the hibernation shutdown but will not resume. Permissions isssue with the bootsplash is where it hangs. Must perform a restart. Works OK with the HP-ized Hoary from Thomas Schneller.
2) SUSPEND TO RAM WORKS NOW!!!(with minor edit) as of 31 AUG 2005! See NOTE 6 #Suspend to RAM does not work properly at all on Hoary proper or HP-ized Hoary.
3) IPW2200 wireless is flaky. will not resume from hibernation wake. does not always start up and associate with an open AP. Profiles between "home" and "work", changes get confused. Home is open. work is WEP. Usually rmmod ipw2200 and modprobe ipw2200 gets things going again along with a reconfigure using the taskbar network monitor applet. Limited success with Network-Manager software. (bug 15144)

Notes
*NOTE 1: 3D Accel works when using HP-ized Hoary from Thomas Schneller.
*NOTE 2: Hibernate works when using HP-ized Hoary from Thomas Schneller.
*NOTE 3: Wireless IPW2200 works out of the box but is somewhat buggy. Configuration profiles get confused when switching between them. i.e. home vs work. Open vs. WEP. WiFi nic does not like to resume after hibernate. Sometimes does not always associate after a fresh start. Decent success obtained with network-manager (bug 15144)
*NOTE 4: Modem works out of the box when using HP-ized Hoary from Thomas Schneller. Not with the regular Hoary release. OK on Breezy.
*NOTE 5: TRACKPAD MOUSE ISSUE FIX. Applies to Hoary. Works out of the box on Breezy Colony 4.
The ultra sensitive mouse issue and the crazy tapping, tap=middle click, random tap clicks without touching the pad etc. have been solved.
Turns out the synaptics driver is not in the xorg config file and adding 4 more lines solves the random tapping stuff. I now have a fully useable touchpad on my HP NC6120. This has been tested on a stock Hoary and a Breezy colony 4 installation.
edit your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and add the 4 identified lines to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf as I have oulined at http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=312603&postcount=4
*NOTE 6: Suspend to RAM works but you must edit /etc/default/acpi-support and uncomment the line that states : ACPI_SLEEP=true . Then you will find that after a reboot you will be able to use the Fn-F3 key and/or the logout applet to suspend to RAM. To get the lid switch to activate suspend to RAM, edit /etc/acpi/events/lidbtn and change "action=/etc/acpi/lid.sh" to "action=/etc/acpi/sleep.sh"
*NOTE 7: Wifi Status LED can be made to work easily by editing /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200. i.e. 'sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/ipw2200' add the following text to it, save, and after your next reboot you will have a functioning blue LED. 'options ipw2200 led=1'
The wifi on/off switch works properly for me on Breezy C-4
