= Introduction =
## Describe:
## the teams's purpose and community role
## the team tasks and work
## who might be interested in joining/getting involved with the team
This is the wiki page for the Ubuntu MA Team that is currently being formed. The team will coordinate to spread ubuntu in the Boston area. The team will be a chapter of the ["NUUbuntuTeam"]. We share their goals, but are here to focus more locally. The main advantage is we can have team meetings in person.

== Goals ==
 1. Educate the public about Ubuntu
 2. Supply Ubuntu (CDs & CD images) to the general public
 3. Support Ubuntu Locally, conduct community classes and symposiums
 4. Conduct outreach programs via local schools, colleges community centers and libraries.
 5. Spread Ubuntu Linux through out Massachusetts.
 6. Provide assistance with migrating, installing, configuring and using Ubuntu
 7. Promote the Ubuntu Certification
 8. Work with other groups to improve peoples computing experience by increasing awareness of GNU + Linux, open source, copyleft software.
 9. Start a " NU Ubuntu Team " portal as a resource guide and link to the greater Ubuntu community.
 10. Start a "NU Ubuntu Foundation" within the USA to collect donations of old Computers, and install Edubuntu/Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Xubuntu for Teachers and Students within the Nu Ubuntu Team region. We will specialize in recycling old MS & apple computers for Teachers, students, elderly and those in need.

We expect that more goals are to come as time passes.

And, obviously, we all do this in line with the [https://launchpad.net/codeofconduct/1.0.1 Ubuntu Code of Conduct]

= Contact =
## List the contact information of the team: Mailing-list, IRC channel and Web Forum as they may apply. Provide a link to the Launchpad page as a Team Member list if applicable. Consider how people will get in touch with you based on the contact information you supply.
All communication is currently through the NU Ubuntu Team channels:
 * Forum: http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=190
 * IRC: #ubuntu-us-ne on freenode
 * Homepage: http://www.cafelinux.org/nuubuntuteam/

Interim team contacts:
 * YuriyKozlov
 * Justin Whitaker

= How to Contribute =
## Describe easy ways to contribute to the team. These should look a lot like the bulleted points on the ContributeToUbuntu wiki page. Link to more detailed subpages as necessary.
The team is currently being set up. You can help by:
 * reading LoCoTeamHowto
 * help set up this wiki page and everything else we need to get started
 * join #ubuntu-us-ne to discuss ideas
 * join the team once it's created on launchpad

= Projects =
## List the team's current projects and tasks as well as status and contact persons for each one. Make it easy for new people to know who to ask and where to go to get involved with a specific project.
Current project: get the team going.

= Launchpad Membership Policy =
## Describe your Launchpad team membership policy here.
The launchpad team isn't set up yet, but once it is, apply and tell us where you live on IRC or by PM on the forums.

= Meetings =
## Link to Meeting Agendas and old meeting summaries here.
No meetings are currently planned.
